On Tuesday I was working at Seaside Souvenirs in California Adventure when a little girl, maybe 6-7 years old, walked up to me and said that all the best princesses have red hair but she wished they all had the same haircut as me. For the record, she totally had this incredibly adorable short bob and her hair was hanging in these loose curls that I wish I could replicate in my own hair so badly, oh and she was a red head too :)

My friend Donovan’s response upon hearing this was, “Did the five year old in you swell with pride? A little girl basically called you a Disney Princess”.

This is such a turn around from when I worked at Best Buy (back in 2008) and one of the guys in Geek Squad had gingerphobia and absolutely refused to be scheduled at the same time as me or go within 50 feet of me. Which looking back seems pretty absurd since if he had said that he had a fear of people with any other hair or skin color he probably wouldn’t have been able to get away with it. Because, oh yes, they scheduled him around me and he always got the better schedule.

I digress, it was so wonderful for this little girl to come up to me and say this. I did quite a literal dance after she left and it makes me appreciate my job a million times more.
